Review: ‘Died Suddenly’
Globalist conspiracy theory in search of facts
Remember the Mother of All Conspiracy Theories – Paul Is Dead? In 1967, a rumor spread in the UK that Beatle Paul McCartney had actually died in a car crash. To spare the public from grief, according to the evolving theory, the remaining Beatles replaced him with a McCartney look-alike and secretly informed fans through clues (audio, visual, lyrical) in their next few albums.
Fast forward to January, 2023. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed after making a tackle during a Jan. 2 Monday Night Football game. First responders administered CPR and defibrillation on the field, and then rushed him to a local hospital in critical condition. News reports indicate the 24-year-old Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest, was discharged nine days later to convalesce at home and went to a Jan. 23 Bills game as a spectator.
But a new conspiracy theory emerged that would make Sir Paul chuckle: Damar is dead. He died from the COVID-19 vaccine and a look-alike appeared in hoodie, mask and sunglasses to hide the awful truth.
“It sure seems odd that Damar Hamlin won't show his face,” tweeted rapper and bounty hunter-turned-conservative podcast host Stew Peters, after someone presumed to be Hamlin attended the Bills game. “I still have not seen proof Damar Hamlin is alive since he collapsed.”
A week later, a six-minute video was released featuring Hamlin expressing gratitude for the support he received during the ordeal. Peters shifted gears by implying the video was an AI-generated deepfake.
“We’re not making the definitive claim that Hamlin is secretly dead,” Peters said on his Jan. 31 internet show, “but anyone who says this all seems normal is just not sane.”
Before assessing the sanity of Stew Peters’ new documentary, Died Suddenly, I have a disclosure to make: I did not get a COVID-19 vaccine. Instead, I chose to shelter in place, wear a mask, wash my hands constantly and keep my distance. After more than two years of these precautions, I finally tested positive for COVID last summer and endured a week of cold-like symptoms. I’m still wearing a mask in public and distancing socially – and waiting for data on the long-term effects of both COVID-19 and the vaccines.
My lifelong distrust of Big Government, Big Pharma and Big Tech – as well as Big Oil, Big Business, Big Box, etc. – has served me well as a journalist. Question everything, look for facts. The prime directive in journalism is to let the facts lead to the story. Unfortunately, Died Suddenly joins a gaggle of recent conspiracy documentaries that start with a fully-formed story and then look for facts to support it.
It’s not common sense
The basic premise of Died Suddenly is that about a year ago, funeral directors and embalmers started noticing a rash of bizarre, fibrous clots in the veins and arteries of people who died suddenly from heart attacks. Doctors did not see these long, calamari-like tissues; they were detected by morticians struggling to pump embalming fluid into dead bodies.
Unfortunately, the filmmakers – Matt Skow and Nick Stumphauzer – don’t present medical examiners witnessing the same phenomena in autopsies and debating forensic explanations.
After the film’s six-minute intro, including a collage of conspiracy subjects from JFK’s assassination to UFOs and Bigfoot, we meet the first source. Chad Whisnant is director of Pittman Funeral Homes in Geneva, Ala. The lightbulb went off for Whisnant when he googled “died suddenly.” Apparently his web-surfing washed up a clip of a 2010 Ted Talk by Bill Gates addressing climate change.
“The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about nine billion,” Gates told the audience of his “Innovating to zero!” presentation. “Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services – we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent.”
Whisnant was aghast. “If you have a man standing in front of you saying he’s gonna reduce the world’s population, that means somebody’s gonna die because you put a vaccine in them,” he explains, sincere. “It doesn’t mean you’re gonna save people. That’s pretty much common sense in my brain.”
I think Whisnant’s brain got it wrong. Gates never claimed he hoped to kill 10-15 percent of the world’s people with vaccines. For decades, demographers have been saying that increased income and development are generally associated with declining fertility rates. As Gates is quoted about 20 minutes later in the film, “The good news is that the faster we improve health care, the faster family size goes down.”
“Common sense” is a term people use to describe their theories. What else could it be?, they ask. Instead of “connecting the dots,” journalists focus on establishing what, indeed, the dots are.
Show me the data
Died Suddenly taps seven embalmers with stories similar to Whisnant’s. From New Zealand to Ohio, they share their collections of rubbery clots and “dirty blood” samples with mysterious specks like coffee grounds. They share a sense that these unexplained phenomena began to emerge in late 2021, but they have no data. They don’t talk to statisticians or medical specialists.
We hear that U.S. life insurance companies are seeing a 40-percent increase in death across all age groups. The source is one CEO of an insurance company in Indianapolis. Two military whistleblowers tell us strokes, miscarriages and cancer are up 300 percent from pre-pandemic levels, according to Defense Department data. But no one specializing in DoD databases offers an explanation. Then, Army flight surgeon Lt. Col. Theresa Long testifies that the COVID vaccine – not the coronavirus itself – is a “bioweapon” and that the U.S. “won’t have a standing army in five years.”
Gloomy stuff, but the filmmakers present suspicions, not statistics. And even if they could show correlations – for example, if there were significantly more miscarriages for vaccinated mothers than unvaccinated ones – there is another level of analysis needed to establish cause. Were the miscarriages caused by the COVID vaccine? Or was the new 5G network the culprit? Or the Earth’s slowing core spin? Gas stoves?
As Died Suddenly veers back into globalist conspiracy theories, none other than tech millionaire and former Democrat mega-donor Steve Kirsch arrives to talk more about data. There’s an Israeli study on adverse effects of COVID vaccines that he wants the world to see – unfortunately the film spends more time exploring Kirsch’s frustration than the actual contents of the mystery study.
Kirsch turns to another promising source of data, the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). VAERS allows patients and doctors to report “adverse events” after any vaccination. If enough reports indicate a vaccine might be causing a problem, the FDA and CDC are supposed to investigate further and take appropriate action.
“About 14,000 Americans have reported deaths,” Kirsch explains. “That’s probably under-reported by a factor of 100 … you got 1.4 million.”
Now, combing through the CDC website for VAERS data is pretty complicated. The red-box dashboard depicted in the film is not on the CDC website – it was produced by OpenVAERS, launched by California web designer Liz Willner after her child got sick upon receiving a vaccine in 2019. Once again, Died Suddenly turns to disturbing images of people dropping dead rather than drilling into any data.
What we need are real answers: Has there been a recent, drastic increase in the number of people dying suddenly (if such a statistic even exists)? Was there a similar spike in still-births and miscarriages in the same time period? Is the appearance of fibrous clots on the rise – over the past three years (COVID pandemic) or past two (vaccination period)? Are there discernible differences between the early emergency mRNA vaccines and the later traditional vaccines – and their adverse effects?
‘Fifth-Generation Warfare’
The film’s New World Order conspiracy theme is framed early on by Army flight surgeon Lt. Col. Dr. Pete Chambers, who warns us of “Fifth-Generation Warfare.”
“This is a Fifth-Generation Warfare for your hearts and your minds,” he explains about a half-hour into the film. “It’s mostly done by digits – through the computer and those kind of things. But it’s also done with adjunct weaponry – in this case, a COVID jab.”
The term emerged around 2010 to describe combat conducted primarily through “non-kinetic” military action, such as social engineering, misinformation and cyberattacks, along with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. In other interviews, Chambers has referred to “globalistas” backing a 5GW Marxist strategy to destroy the U.S. Last fall, former national security advisor and retired three-star Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn published a book entitled, The Citizen's Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare.
Flynn has been a headliner of the ReAwaken America tour, an event the Associated Press has characterized as a “potent mix of politics, religion and commerce that has become a prime example of the Christian nationalist movement.”
“If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion under God. Right?” Flynn has told ReAwaken America audiences. “All of us together. Working together. I don’t care what your ecumenical service is or what you are. We have to believe that this is a moment in time where this is good versus evil.”
To be sure, vaccines may be hazardous to your health. The FDA paused Johnson and Johnson’s COVID vaccine after it was linked to 60 confirmed cases of blood-clotting side effects in April, 2021. Likewise, COVID is certainly hazardous to your health. Remember how Broadway star Nick Cordero died from COVID-related blood clotting in mid-2020, long before any vaccine was available? Studies need to be ongoing and data from more than 13 billion vaccine doses must be carefully analyzed.
And corroborating Died Suddenly’s specific claim – that Pfizer’s vaccine was intentionally designed as a bioweapon to reduce the human population – will take some incredibly credible inside sources.
Instead, the film offers outsiders with a theory. Army flight surgeon Long’s “professional medical opinion” is that COVID vaccines are bioweapons “unleashed against humanity.” British funeral director John O’Looney warns us this is coming from the U.N. and the World Economic Forum: “There is a pure evil in this world … this is Agenda 2030, this is the Great Reset.”
Stew Peters finally conceded that Damar Hamlin is alive, but now his theory is the young football player is in the pocket of Pfizer. Hamlin gave a pre-Super Bowl interview to ABC News in which he seemed reluctant to discuss both his collapse on Jan. 2 and his subsequent recovery.
“And now he doesn't want to talk about it?,” Peters tweeted Feb. 14. “His ‘non-profit’ [The Chasing M's Foundation Charitable Fund] got paid roughly $10 million. Has he been paid more on top of that by Pfizer to shut his mouth?”
While theories about Pfizer abound, so do facts. From late 2020 through last September, Pfizer earned about $80 billion from sales of COVID vaccines and Paxlovid, its antiviral pill. Pfizer’s CEO, Albert Bourla, has a net worth 30-40 times that of Paul McCartney – who is still not dead. Pfizer has also been charged and settled various lawsuits involving allegations of kickbacks, fraudulent marketing and data manipulation. Since 2002 the company and its subsidiaries have been assessed $3 billion in criminal convictions, civil penalties and jury awards.
